Hailed by the British Guardian for her “sublime tone and technique,” flutist Min Park was the only flute recipient of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust of UK in 2000-2003 and has won other prestigious awards including first prize at the Tunbridge Wells International Competition Wind Division, Yamaha Wind and Brass Scholarships in London, Eve Kisch Flute Prize at the Royal College of Music as well as receiving scholarships from the Hattori Music Foundation, Wall Trust and the Britten-Pears Foundation in the UK.
Dr. Park has given solo recitals throughout the UK, the US and Asia. Her solo performance venues include the Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre London, National Art Museum of Copenhagen Denmark, Nova Hall in Tsukuba Japan, 2005 Flute Convention in Sapporo Japan, Shenyang Conservatory Music Hall in Dalian China, Academy of Music in Philadelphia amongst many others. In South Korea, she was a soloist at the 2007 Orchestra Festival(교향악축제) and the Matinee Symphonic Series(예술의전당 11시 콘서트) at the Seoul Arts Center, Complete Mozart Series at the Daejeon Culture and Arts Center, Leeum Gallery & Rodin Gallery to name a few. Ms. Park also performed as a soloist with numerous Korean ensembles such as the Seoul Baroque Ensemble, Korean Symphony, KangNam Symphony, Euro-Asian Philharmonic, Prime Philharmonic, Seoul Classical Players, Daejeon Philharmonic, Ulsan Philharmonic, and the Choong-Nam Philharmonic Orchestra. She has recorded the Mozart Flute Quartet for the BBC RADIO 3, and a solo recital for the KBS CLASSIC FM RADIO.
Dr. Park is a dedicated orchestral musician as well as an active chamber musician. She has served as Principal Flutist of the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra (2002-2008) in South Korea and has performed as Guest Principal Flutist with distinguished ensembles such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She has been a fellow at Tanglewood, Saratoga, Music Academy of the West, Sarosota, National Repertory Orchestra, Verbier Festival in Switzerland, and principal flute of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Ms. Park is a passionate educator and has taught flute at the music departments of the Seoul National University, KyungHee University, ChoongNam National University and the MokWon University in South Korea.
Dr. Park is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, the Royal College of Music in London, and SUNY Stony Brook University. She is a SANKYO Flute Artist and currently serves as a faculty member at the Gracias School of Music at Mahanaim NY.
