Hyunmee Lee made her debut as soloist with orchestra at the age of nine in Helsinki, receiving rave reviews from all major Finnish news. Ms. Lee performed on Finnish national TV and Radio YLE and Yleis, as well as Germany’s SWR, NDR. Her performance with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra at Finlandia Hall was televised across 12 European countries by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
She performed at the Rococo Theater of Schwetzingen Castle upon invitation by NATO, the Brahms-Tage in Baden-Baden, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. Critics described her inauguration of the Steinway Concert Grand at Gaggenau’s Jahnhalle as “Fire Baptism”, where she performed both Mozart Concerto KV 488 and Chopin Concerto No. 2 in one evening.In New York, she served the Children’s Orchestra Society as Assistant Artistic Director and Director of Young Musicians’ Master Class Extravaganza. She led a class on Robert Schumann at SUNY Orange in Newburgh.
As a teacher, Hyunmee Lee gathers from her experiences at the Helsinki Conservatory and the Sibelius Academy, Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, The Juilliard School, and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover (KE/Soloklasse). Her mentors were Matti Oksala, Werner Genuit, Hyun-Ja Jung, Martin Canin and Arie Vardi. She is grateful to Dr. Gary Parrett, whose sacred works she is currently recording, for his imparting wisdom on life of one loved by God.
